Requirement for application for who live overseas
Persons who completed 12 years of general school education in their own country, or are expecting to complete such before March 31, 2012, and are qualified to enter a university in their own country. Or persons recognized as having a corresponding academic ability, are 18 years or older, and one of following applies.
- (1) Japanese Language Proficiency Test, N2(formerly Grade 2) or more
- (2) Japan Foreign Student Examination, Japanese language subject, 200 points or more.
- (3) Studied Japanese language at a Japanese language institute for more than 6 months.
- (4) Attended a school which complies with the Japanese School of Education Law, Article 1 (except preschool) for more than one year.
- (5) BJT Business Japanese Language Proficiency Test, 400 points or more.

*All the courses will be closed upon reaching capacity.
Application Items
- (1) Foreign student enrollment application

(2) Certification and "Academic Transcript verifying 12 years of education in a foreign country.
Certification written in English and issued by the school from your home country.
If certification is not written in English, submit one translation in English or Japanese with a certification stamp. - (3) Documents which certify one of the application requirements in (1)-(5).

(4) Health certificate (using the school designated form)
Please submit a check up which includes an X-ray, within 3 months, and from a general hospital (described in English or Japanese).

(5) Document on financial support
Please submit the documents which correspond to the following A or B.
A. In the event the student personally bears the study expenses abroad.

Certificate of the bank account balance of the person.
Certificate of the bank account balance under the person's name issued by the financial agency (English).

B. In the event another person besides the student bears study expenses abroad.

Certificate of the bank account balance of the person providing financial support.
Certificate of the bank account balance under the name of the financial provider issued by the financial agency (English).
Pledge of payment (using the school designated form).
Document to prove family relationship of the financial provider and the applicant, issued by a public agency.
Document to prove the income of the financial provider issued by a public agency.

- (6) Application documents for the authorization of resident eligibility (using the school designated form)

3cm (h) x 2.5cm (w), four pieces, front view, upper body, no hats, recent (within 3 months), (legal document type photos).
Write your name and date of birth on the back, securely paste one photograph to the admissions application, and include the remaining three. - (8) Copy of your Passport

(9) Screening Fee 22,500 yen
Please send by remittance telegraphic transfer. After remitting the money, please enclose a copy of the application for remittance, with the other application documents.
Application procedures and points to keep in mind
All applications must be sent by postal mail.
(1) Write the address of the school you wish to attend on the application envelope designated by this school. Please be aware that submitted documents and screening fee will not be returned.
(2) Application to other schools (provisionary admissions) is not permitted.
Sending money from overseas
Please send a screening fee of 22,500 yen from a local financial agency, according to the following procedures, as a remittance telegraphic transfer

Enrollment selection method for enrollment by foreign students who live overseas
- (1) Document Screening
- (2) Japanese Written Examination
- (3) Composition test

(4) Interview examination
*After the application documents have been received, the dates and locations of the Japanese written test, composition test, and interview will be sent by Email or postal mail to the applicant. (Please write clearly your Email address in block letters.)
*In some cases, examination for overseas applicants may be carried out in the home country of the applicant.
Notification of Pass or Fail
After the examination, the examinees will be notified of pass or fail results by postal mail.
Enrollment procedure documents, such as notification of acceptance, promissory letter, bank transfer form for college expenses, etc., will be sent by postal mail to successful applicants.
Inquiries regarding passing or failing by phone or postal mail will not accepted.
Enrollment procedures for foreign applicants who live overseas

(1) Money transfer at the time of enrollment
At the time of enrollment, a payment guide will be sent by postal mail. Please follow this guide when sending payment as a Remittance Telegraphic Transfer by the designated date.
*The handling fee in the home country incurred by the remittance telegraphic transfer in the foreign country shall be borne by the sender.

(2) Document Submission
- a. Promissory letter
- b. A copy of the Application for Remittance from the time of payment transfer upon enrollment
- c. 2 photos, 4cm (h) x 3cm (w), front view, upper body, no hats, recent (within 3 months), (legal document type photos).

(3) Submission Method
All applications must be sent by postal mail. Please submit using the envelop for enrollment procedures designated by Risshisha, by express registered mail.

(4) Submission Deadline
Please submit the documents by the designated date.
*An enrollment permit will be issued after the submitted documents and payment for enrollment have been confirmed.

(5) Application for Authorization of Resident Eligibility
Risshisha will apply for issuance of an Authorization of Resident Eligibility for those who have been passed enrollment selection and have submitted the documents.

(6) Visa application
After Authorization of Resident Eligibility has been issued, an Authorization of Resident Eligibility certificate will be sent by postal mail.
Please personally apply for a visa from your respective embassy.

(7) Orientation
A briefing will be held for successful applicants. Details, such as the date and location, will be sent by postal mail.

Regarding Student Dormitory and Apartments
For foreign students scheduled to enroll in Risshisha who are looking for a student dormitory or apartment, we can introduce affiliated dormitories (male/ female) and successful real-estate companies.

- (1) Students desiring to live in the student dormitory or apartment, please mark the dormitory/apartment column.
- (2) After receiving information from Risshisha, please contact the affiliated dormitory company and/or real-estate company directly.
- (3) Please note that rooming listed on the resource material is not always available.

*For tuition sent from overseas, please include 2,500 yen to exchange the money into yen.
*Teaching material fees are included in the practice training fee, but dictionaries and reference books and examination fees are not included.
*Once school expenses have been paid, and a notification of enrollment refusal is submitted prior to March 31, 2012, such school expenses, including the entire amount for the tuition, the practice training fee, and maintenance fee, excluding admissions fee, will be returned. Moreover, in the event authorization of resident eligibility has not been issued yet, the total amount received for admissions will be returned.
*A return handling fee will be subtracted from the refunded amount.
*When declining admission, the right to tuition exemption as a special scholarship student (or scholarship student) is forfeited.
ex. Please note that in the event a student who has applied for admission fee exemption declines admission, the corresponding amount of the admission fees will not be returned.

The title "Vocational Degree will be given to those who complete a professional course of more than 2 years at a vocational college and meet certain requirements, and may transfer to the third year of a university. Moreover, an "Advanced Vocational Degree is given to those who complete a 4 year professional course at a vocational college and meet certain requirements in addition to the 4 year course term.
